Around 204 free places in Riga Grade 10 admissions; list of schools with openings

Riga's municipal secondary schools currently have around 204 available places for Grade 10. The figure is fluid, as some students decide to continue their studies at other institutions, which can create or fill openings. Because of this, the city council encourages applicants to check with individual schools for the latest updates.

Admission is still underway. Candidates can apply by submitting a request in person at the chosen school or by emailing a document signed with a secure electronic signature. According to the municipality, openings exist at Riga Secondary Schools No. 9, 13, 21, 25, 31, 33, 80, 95 and 96, as well as at Riga Lithuanian Secondary School, Riga Rīnūži Secondary School, Riga Ukrainian Secondary School, Riga Reinholds Šmēlings Secondary School, Riga Ostvald Secondary School, Riga Ziepniekkalns Secondary School, Riga Imanta Secondary School and the music programme at Riga Secondary School No. 45.

A place is considered free if there are no active applications for it in the electronic admissions system. Applicants must meet the admission requirements of the particular school. The submission of new applications through the electronic system has already closed, but those who previously submitted an application keep it active even if they apply for a free place. After applying for a free place, a candidate can still receive an invitation from one of the schools chosen earlier online, provided a spot becomes free there later. Since applications are processed continuously and students move between schools, the number of vacant places can also increase.
