Rīgas Piena Kombināts invests €50,000 in expanding its yogurt range

Latvian dairy processor Rīgas Piena Kombināts is continuing to expand its yogurt lineup, putting an additional €50,000 toward the effort. The investment has resulted in five new or improved products, manufactured at the company's two production facilities — Rīgas Piena Kombināts and Valmieras Piens.

The changes affect both the Limbažu Piens and Rasēns brands. Alongside the expanded range, the packaging of all three Limbažu Piens yogurts has been updated, in both material and visual design. The products are now sold in polypropylene cups, which are easier to recycle than the previous packaging.

Additions in two segments

Marketing director Ilva Veidemane says 2026 has been an especially significant year for the company in the fermented dairy category, which continues to grow rapidly. Earlier this year the company launched its Lakto Protein yogurt line, followed in early summer by four new Kārums yogurt drinks. The latest additions expand the offering in two more segments — children's snacks and everyday, budget-friendly yogurts. Veidemane adds that further new products in other categories are expected this autumn.

The Rasēns brand's spoonable yogurt range has also seen notable changes, with updates to the recipe, added ingredients and packaging design.

Rīgas Piena Kombināts is Latvia's largest dairy processing company. It was recently reported that the parent company of Estonian agricultural group Agrona has reached an agreement to acquire the business.
