Officers of the Riga East Division of the Riga Region Department of the State Police in Latvia are asking the public to help establish the identity of several people. Images and video showing these individuals have been made public, and police hope that someone who sees them will be able to provide useful information.

What police are asking

The State Police urge people to look carefully at the published images and video and to respond if they may recognise any of the people shown. Police also want to hear from anyone who may not know the person but knows where he or she can be found. The appeal is addressed to everyone, and even partial information may be of help.

The announcement does not say why police want to establish the identities of these people or which case or incident the request is linked to.

How to pass on information

People can inform police by calling 112. Another option is to write to the email address dmitrijs.pozdnakovs@riga.vp.gov.lv.

Public appeals of this kind are a way for police to involve the community in identifying people. Any tip could help officers establish more quickly what is going on.
