Latvia's Rihards Snikus wins bronze at Para Dressage World Championship

Latvian para-athlete Rihards Snikus won bronze with his horse "Rise & Shine" at the Para Dressage World Championship in Germany. The event counts toward qualification for the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympics.

Latvian para-athlete Rihards Snikus claimed a bronze medal on Sunday at the Para Dressage World Championship in Germany, competing in the "Grade I Para Grand Prix Freestyle" event with his new horse "Rise & Shine".

The pair's performance was scored at 75.420 percent, securing third place in the final among eight competitors.

Results

American rider Maria Vonderheiden and her horse "Fan Tastico" took first place with a score of 80.540 percent. Italian rider Sara Morganti and "Bond Girl 18" finished second with 78.767 percent.

Latvia was also represented at the World Championship by Alise Muižniece, who competed with her horse "Baily".

Road to Los Angeles

Participation in the World Championship allows athletes to earn points toward the world ranking, an important step in the qualification process for the 2028 Paralympic Games in Los Angeles. Rihards Snikus is known as the champion of the 2024 Paris Paralympics in para dressage.
