Rinkēvičs: Investment in national defence service infrastructure and training must continue

President Edgars Rinkēvičs, visiting the National Guard's 4th Kurzeme Brigade, stressed the need to keep investing in infrastructure and training quality for the State Defence Service (VAD). He also met with VAD service members.

Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs visited the National Guard's 4th Kurzeme Brigade on Thursday, where he met with soldiers performing State Defence Service (VAD) duties.

During the visit, Rinkēvičs said it is important to continue investing in both infrastructure development and high-quality training. According to him, this is a precondition for maintaining a positive view of the service among young people going forward.

The president added that such investment also helps motivate young people to get involved and participate in strengthening national security. The meeting with the soldiers was part of his visit to the brigade.
