Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs will undertake a working visit to the United States from September 17 to 28, his adviser Mārtiņš Drēģeris announced.

During the trip, Rinkēvičs will travel to New York to take part in the opening of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, one of the main international gatherings where heads of state address global issues each year.

The second part of the visit will take him to Washington, where he will attend the congress marking the 75th anniversary of the American Latvian Association. The organization is one of the largest and longest-standing Latvian diaspora groups in the United States, bringing together Latvians abroad for decades while maintaining ties with Latvia.

The presidential adviser did not provide further details about the visit's schedule or specific meetings planned during the trip.
