The solo exhibition 'Longing as Culmination' by emerging Latvian sculptor Robert Bāliņš will open on July 31 at the Cut Art gallery in Riga. The exhibition centers on the theme of waiting – a state where people become absorbed in deep thoughts about a possible future or a past event. Through his works, the artist highlights how longing for what might come or what has passed often overshadows the present moment.

To remind viewers of the value of the present, Bāliņš employs abstract forms that, as he explains, are also human-like. These pieces invite the audience to pause and enjoy the journey toward their desires, rather than focusing solely on the destination. The exhibition opens on July 31 and offers a chance to engage with the artist's thought-provoking works, encouraging a shift away from daily haste toward mindful awareness of the now.
