Latvian basketball player Roberts Blumbergs moves from Turkey to Spain's ACB league
Latvian national team forward Roberts Blumbergs will play for Zaragoza in Spain's ACB league next season.

Latvian basketball player Roberts Blumbergs is continuing his career in Spain's top-tier ACB league. On Friday, the club Zaragoza announced that they have signed the Latvian.
Last season, the 28-year-old Blumbergs represented the Turkish club Petkim Spor from Izmir. In the Turkish league, he averaged 8.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. In the FIBA Europe Cup, his numbers were even more impressive – 8.9 points and 5.9 rebounds per game over 14 matches.
Before that, Blumbergs played for another Turkish club, Galatasaray Istanbul, with whom he reached the FIBA Champions League final. He also previously played for Aris Thessaloniki in Greece, Sibiu CSU in Romania, and Maristas Palencia in Spain's second-tier LEB Oro league.
Early in his career, the Ventspils-born player competed in Latvia for Liepāja and Valmiera Glass/Vidzemes Augstskola, as well as in club systems in Germany and the Czech Republic. Before turning professional, he spent two years in the NCAA.
Zaragoza finished 15th in the ACB last season. This will be Blumbergs' debut in the top Spanish league.
