Latvian tennis player Štrombahs climbs sharply in ATP rankings

Latvian tennis player Roberts Štrombahs has posted a notable rise in the latest ATP rankings, gaining 39 spots to move up to 410th place in the world.

Other Latvian players also saw shifts in the rankings. Kārlis Ozoliņš, currently under suspension, gained 19 places and now sits at 665th, Rihards Neimanis climbed 27 spots to a shared 1638th place, while Mārtiņš Rocēns remained unchanged at a shared 1824th place.

Top of the rankings

Italy's Jannik Sinner remains number one in the ATP rankings, followed by Germany's Alexander Zverev, with Spain's Carlos Alcaraz rounding out the top three. Canada's Felix Auger-Aliassime is fourth, and Serbia's Novak Djokovic holds fifth place. Italy's Flavio Cobolli rose four spots to sixth, followed by Australia's Alex de Minaur in seventh. Russia's Daniil Medvedev slipped to eighth, American Ben Shelton dropped three places to ninth, while American Taylor Fritz rounds out the top ten.

Changes in the doubles rankings

In the doubles rankings, Štrombahs gained four places to reach 235th. Ozoliņš rose 16 spots to 557th, while Artūrs Žagars lost 294 places, dropping to 1324th. Rocēns climbed 38 spots to a shared 2087th place, Aleksandrs Sotikovs improved by 678 places to reach 2107th, and Kirils Sokolovs rose 26 spots to a shared 2693rd place.

At the top of the doubles rankings, Finland's Harri Heliövaara and Britain's Henry Patten continue to share first place.
