Robinson and Brook shine as England edge past Pakistan in Test series

England secured victory in the third and final Test against Pakistan, with captain Joe Root guiding the team to their target in the second innings with an unbeaten 62. Root's form with the bat remains strong, though his technique against balls trapping him leg-before continues to raise questions after a 10th such dismissal in 14 innings.

The series' standout performer was seamer Ollie Robinson, who finished with 21 wickets at a remarkable average of 8.76, dictating terms throughout and chipping in with a useful half-century with the bat. Josh Tongue also proved his worth, taking 19 wickets across the three matches.

Harry Brook was England's leading run-scorer in the series with 215 runs at an average of 53.75, despite running himself out on 75 in the final Test when a century looked likely. Jordan Cox impressed both with bat and gloves, making an unbeaten 59 and taking five dismissals behind the stumps after stepping in for the injured Jamie Smith, who suffered a finger injury.

It was a difficult series for opener Ben Duckett, who finished with just 44 runs at an average of 8.8, likely to invite scrutiny over his place in the side.

For Pakistan, 21-year-old debutant Razaullah Khan caught the eye, taking four wickets in the first innings before smashing 81 runs including nine sixes. Captain Shan Masood top-scored for the tourists with a defiant 95 in the second innings, and Babar Azam added a classy 76, though neither innings was enough to change the result. Newcomer Saim Ayub endured a torrid debut with a pair, while Abdullah Shafique was dismissed twice by Robinson for minimal returns.
