Italian Serie A club Roma is preparing to submit a €40 million bid to acquire West Ham United forward Crysencio Summerville, including an additional €5 million in bonuses.

Earlier reports indicated that Manchester United had identified Summerville as a key target to strengthen their attack this summer. However, Roma now challenges United's interest and is ready to compete for the Dutch winger. Aston Villa from Birmingham has also shown interest.

Summerville has spent two seasons at West Ham, having joined from Leeds United for nearly €30 million. Last season, he scored five goals and provided two assists in 31 appearances across all competitions.

At the World Cup, Summerville represented the Netherlands, who were eliminated in the round of 32. He made four appearances, two of them as a starter, scoring two goals and providing two assists.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Roma's initial €40 million plus €5 million bid was rejected on Saturday, but the club is expected to return to the table with a new proposal.

The 2026 Premier League summer transfer window is active, and Summerville is one of the most sought-after players on the market.
