Rosneft, Bashneft, and TNK Halt Gasoline Sales in Canisters Across Russia
Rosneft and its subsidiaries Bashneft and TNK have stopped selling gasoline in canisters at all gas stations across Russia, according to independent outlet Verstka. The temporary restrictions are due to heightened seasonal demand, with stations also capping fuel pumped directly into tanks.
According to independent Russian news outlet Verstka, Rosneft and its subsidiaries Bashneft and TNK have stopped selling gasoline in canisters at all gas stations across Russia. A company hotline representative stated that due to heightened seasonal demand, fuel is now only sold directly into vehicle tanks. Additionally, stations are capping the amount of fuel that can be pumped per transaction, typically at 90 liters (about 24 gallons). The restrictions are temporary.
Earlier, Tatneft reported that its gas stations across Russia were limiting the amount of fuel sold. Fuel shortages in Russia have been observed amid intensified Ukrainian drone strikes on oil refineries and other infrastructure.
