RSU Faculty of Social Sciences signs cooperation memorandum with LMT
The Faculty of Social Sciences at Riga Stradiņš University and mobile operator LMT have signed a memorandum on cooperation in innovation, technology and research. The agreement was signed during the faculty's Partnership Day event.
The Faculty of Social Sciences at Riga Stradiņš University (RSU SZF) has signed a cooperation memorandum with mobile operator LMT during an event called Partnership Day. The agreement outlines both parties' commitment to strengthen cooperation in innovation, technology, research and human capital development, as well as to promote knowledge transfer between academia and industry.
Partnership Day is part of the faculty's ongoing effort to build closer ties between academia, businesses and other organizations. Acting Vice Dean Līga Ozoliņa said the faculty aims to build partnerships that go beyond formal cooperation, allowing students to work during their studies on issues relevant to the labor market and society, including technology development, artificial intelligence and digital transformation.
Broad scope of cooperation
The faculty offers partners opportunities for joint research, involving students in projects and internships, and access to academic expertise. Areas of cooperation include artificial intelligence, communication, data analytics, international relations, business and marketing, organizational and state resilience, and health security.
RSU SZF Dean Ieva Puzo emphasized that the faculty's goal is to promote data- and knowledge-based decision-making at the national level, which requires cooperation between academia, the public sector and industry.
Mārtiņš Zeps, head of LMT's artificial intelligence business, explained that cooperation with RSU is a natural next step, combining the expertise of both fields at a time when technology is increasingly intertwined with daily life, work and education. He highlighted particular potential in artificial intelligence, where the best results emerge from collaboration between businesses, scientists and young talent.
RSU SZF plans to continue developing partnerships with businesses, government bodies and non-governmental organizations to connect knowledge, experience and new ideas in addressing current challenges.
