On September 25, RTU Liepāja Academy will join the international Researchers' Night event, offering visitors a wide range of hands-on and creative activities. The event will take place from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., giving everyone a chance to experiment and take part alongside the academy's researchers, lecturers and students.
What the program includes
Visitors will be able to try a virtual reality experience and simulations created in Liepāja, offering a glimpse into the possibilities of the digital world. Interactive sound installations and workshops are also planned, allowing participants to explore the nature of sound hands-on.
Artist Kristīne Martinova will lead an illustration and visual storytelling workshop, where participants can try turning ideas and stories into visual images themselves. For those interested in language, there will be a chance to explore regional dialect words and semantics, learning what local speech reveals about the region's identity and way of thinking.
The event will also feature a presentation of the forthcoming book "Liepāja. Culture. Memory," where the authors will discuss the city's cultural and historical memory and take questions from attendees.
Activities for children
A Montessori workshop is planned for the youngest visitors, offering a hands-on, developmental environment where children can discover patterns of the world around them through touch, play and independent activity.
Researchers' Night is an annual event aimed at bringing science closer to the public, and this year RTU Liepāja Academy is offering activities for both adults and children.
