Concert offerings thin out in Latvia as autumn begins

As autumn sets in, Latvia's music scene has grown noticeably quieter, while theatres are gradually starting to reopen their doors for the new season. As a result, the number of concerts on offer has dropped considerably compared to summer.

City festivals, which regularly drew crowds across Latvian towns throughout the summer, have also wrapped up for the season and will not return until next year.

Narrow-gauge railway anniversary

This weekend, the standout cultural event is the celebration of the 123rd anniversary of the Gulbene–Stāmeriena–Alūksne narrow-gauge railway. On Saturday, each stop along the line will host its own cultural activities, with the celebrations concluding in Alūksne with a performance by the band Čipsi un Dullo.
