Actor Rūdolfs Plēpis to Become Great-Grandfather for the Fourth Time
Latvian actor Rūdolfs Plēpis will soon welcome his fourth grandchild – his daughter Astra, living in Scotland, is expecting her third child. Meanwhile, another granddaughter, Marija Grieta, has graduated from high school.

Beloved Latvian actor Rūdolfs Plēpis is about to become a great-grandfather for the fourth time. His eldest daughter Astra, who resides in Scotland, is expecting her third child – a girl due in August. Astra already has a 20-year-old son Ernest and a two-year-old daughter Eva. Plēpis learned of the upcoming addition when Astra visited Latvia in May.
Meanwhile, his other daughter Viktorija recently celebrated a milestone: her daughter Marija Grieta, the actor's granddaughter, graduated from high school. The graduation ceremony took place at the "Mītava" open-air concert hall in Jelgava. Marija studied at a distance learning high school based in Riga that enrolls students from across Latvia. Viktorija noted that the outdoor setting was pleasant and dismissed concerns about distance learning affecting social skills, stating that Marija always has many friends.
Marija is a talented young woman – she paints, composes songs, plays guitar and ukulele, and crochets. She also completed music school, where she learned saxophone, though it is not her favorite instrument. Additionally, she enjoys hairstyling – cutting, dyeing, and styling hair for family and friends, including her grandfather. Her future plans include obtaining a hairstylist diploma to work alongside possible university studies.
Rūdolfs Plēpis, who lost his eyesight a few years ago, attended the graduation. He could not see the diploma presentation but could hear it. The actor lives in a one-room apartment on Alunāna Street, cared for by a paid caregiver from an organization. Viktorija highlighted that her father remains in good spirits and appreciates spending time with family at celebrations.
