Romania downs another drone that entered its airspace

Romanian President Nicușor Dan announced on X that at 08:30 a Romanian pilot flying an F-16 fighter jet downed the unmanned aerial vehicle approximately 10 km west of the town of Sfântu Gheorghe.
This is the second consecutive day that Romania has used a fighter jet to take down a drone violating its airspace. On July 24, Romanian forces for the first time employed a fighter jet to shoot down a drone that had penetrated deep into the country's territory. Senior Romanian military officials reported that the downed drone was visually identified as a Shahed-type UAV.
The incidents highlight increased drone activity along Romania's border, likely linked to the ongoing war in Ukraine.
