President Nicușor Dan reported that the incident occurred at around 08:30 local time, approximately 10 kilometers west of the city of Sfântu Gheorghe. The drone was intercepted and destroyed by a Romanian pilot flying an F-16 fighter jet.
This marks the second such incident within a week. On July 24, Romanian military personnel shot down a drone for the first time from a fighter aircraft after it penetrated the country's territory. No further details about the drone's origin or intended target have been disclosed.
