Rune Misses Wimbledon, Continues Recovery from Achilles Injury
Danish tennis player Holger Rune has announced he will not be ready for Wimbledon as he continues his recovery from an Achilles tendon rupture suffered last October.

Holger Rune, now 23 years old, ruptured his Achilles tendon during a tournament in Stockholm last October. He has been in rehabilitation ever since, and his initially planned return in May at the Hamburg ATP 500 event was canceled due to knee issues.
On Thursday, Rune officially stated that he will miss Wimbledon, the third Grand Slam of the season. “Skipping Wimbledon was not an easy decision,” he said. “But my goal remains unchanged – to come back stronger and compete at the highest level.”
Due to his prolonged absence, the Danish player has dropped to 63rd in the ATP rankings. This year's Wimbledon Championship is scheduled from June 29 to July 12, and Rune will not be participating.
