Rutte: Russian Sabotage in Europe Shows Weakness, Not Strength
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said in Estonia on Wednesday that Russia's harassment operations in Europe reveal its weakness and desperation. He stressed that the alliance will not let itself be intimidated.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said on Wednesday, 14 October, during a visit to Estonia that Russia's harassment operations in Europe are not a sign of strength. In his words, they point to Russian weakness and desperation. NATO, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, is a military alliance of the United States, Canada and European countries, and Estonia is one of its members.
Rutte explained that Russia is not making progress on the front in Ukraine, where its war continues. For that reason, he said, Moscow is trying to carry out sabotage operations in Europe. Their aim, according to him, is to reduce NATO countries' support for Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.
The head of NATO stated that the alliance will not allow itself to be intimidated. He thereby signalled that Russian actions intended to influence Western support for Ukraine will not change that support.
The statement came during Rutte's visit to Estonia, a Baltic country that borders Russia.
