Root 'hacked off' after Carse's nightclub incident ahead of second Test

England cricket captain Joe Root has expressed frustration over an incident involving fast bowler Brydon Carse just days before the second Test against Pakistan.

Carse, 31, was photographed in handcuffs outside a bar in Derby on Saturday night, with the images circulating on social media the following day. He was briefly arrested and later de-arrested without charge.

Squad decision

Despite no charges being brought, team management decided to leave Carse out of the squad for the second Test, which begins this week against Pakistan.

Speaking at the opening of a news conference, Root did not hide his disappointment. "If I'm being brutally honest, I'm really hacked off, I'm really disappointed," he said, adding that after a strong performance the previous week, the team was now forced to address a matter entirely unrelated to their cricket.
