Ryanair to hold press conference on 17 September about its operations in Latvia
Irish low-cost carrier Ryanair will hold a press conference on 17 September to present information about its operations in Latvia, with a focus on flights from Riga.
Irish low-cost airline Ryanair will hold a press conference on 17 September at 11:30 to present information about its business in Latvia, airline representatives told the LETA news agency. This time the focus will be on flights departing from Riga Airport.
Ryanair's chief commercial officer, Jason McGuinness, will take part in the press conference.
Previous experience
Last October, Ryanair held a similar press conference in Latvia, where it announced it would cancel several destinations and reduce flight frequency, citing a significant increase in airport charges as the reason.
At the time, Riga Airport explained that such route restructuring is a seasonal phenomenon — every year at the end of October the winter flight season begins, during which the Baltic region traditionally sees fewer air travelers. As seasons change, airlines revise their route networks, keeping flights to destinations with expected higher demand while dropping less profitable ones.
