The US Open, the last Grand Slam tennis tournament of the year, has concluded in New York.

In the women's singles final, Kazakhstan's Elena Rybakina defeated world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus in three sets, 6-4, 5-7, 6-2, to claim the title. It is Rybakina's third career Grand Slam trophy — she won Wimbledon in 2022 and added the Australian Open earlier this year.

On the men's side, top seed Alexander Zverev of Germany beat American Ben Shelton 6-3, 7-6, 5-7, 6-2 in a match lasting three hours and 32 minutes. For the 29-year-old Zverev, it is his second career Grand Slam title, and both have come this season — he also won the French Open in June. So far, these two trophies are Zverev's only Grand Slam titles of 2026.
