XXI Hiiu Folk Festival Begins: Estonian-Ukrainian Band and Local Artists Perform

The annual Hiiu Folk festival started on Friday in August 2024, running until Sunday. The event takes place at the Käina cultural and interest center in southern Hiiumaa. Performers on the opening day included the Estonian-Ukrainian band Svjata Vatra, violinist Daana, the Lee folk dance group, and other artists. The festival, now in its 21st edition, offers a rich program of traditional music and dance. This year, the festival aims to preserve and promote local traditions while fostering intercultural dialogue, especially with Ukraine.
