Sadales tīkls Repairs 80 Power Grid Damages Caused by Thunderstorm

Latvian power distribution company Sadales tīkls has announced that between the afternoon of July 12 and 6:00 AM on July 13, it repaired 80 damages to the power grid caused by a thunderstorm. The repairs were carried out across Latvia to restore electricity supply to residents. No further details were provided about the specific regions affected or the progress of the restoration work. According to LETA news agency, repair crews worked through the night. Such summer storms frequently cause temporary power outages, and Sadales tīkls regularly addresses these issues. Residents are encouraged to report any new damages to the company's service. The company noted that most of the damages were due to fallen trees or branches on power lines, as well as lightning strikes. At present, electricity supply has been restored at all known fault locations.
