Saeima simplifies tax payment rules for small-scale business activity
Latvia's parliament has adopted in final reading amendments to the Micro-enterprise Tax Law that will simplify tax payment procedures for people who provide services or sell goods to other individuals on a small scale.

Latvia's parliament, the Saeima, adopted amendments to the Micro-enterprise Tax Law in final reading on Thursday, aimed at reducing the administrative burden on people who provide services or sell goods to other individuals on a small scale, the Saeima Press Service reported.
Who is affected
The changes target people engaged in small-scale economic activity — those who earn income irregularly or in limited amounts by providing services or selling goods to other private individuals. Until now, the tax payment process for such people could be relatively complex and time-consuming given the modest size of the income involved.
A simpler procedure
The adopted amendments to the Micro-enterprise Tax Law are designed specifically to simplify the tax payment procedure for this group. This means the administrative requirements and processes tied to paying taxes will become less burdensome for people whose economic activity is neither extensive nor regular.
The Saeima Press Service confirmed the final-reading adoption of the amendments, noting that the goal is specifically to ease the administrative load on this category of residents.
