Saeima passes 91 laws in spring session; Butāns and Kiršteins top debaters

During its spring session with 12 sittings, the Saeima adopted 91 laws, with deputies Butāns and Kiršteins being the most active in debates.

The Saeima has concluded its spring session, which consisted of 12 sittings, including one extraordinary and one ceremonial. A total of 91 laws were passed. 102 draft laws were submitted to committees: 50 from the Cabinet, 28 from Saeima committees, and 24 from deputies. In total, 1,472 proposals were reviewed. The most active debaters were Artūrs Butāns (31 times), Aleksandrs Kiršteins (25), and Skaidrīte Ābrama (22). Others: Jānis Vitenbergs (19), Linda Liepiņa (18), Edmunds Zivtiņš (17), Andrejs Judins (14), and Liene Gātere, Jana Simanovska, Edvards Smiltēns (13 each). The session closed on June 19, with the autumn session set to begin on August 31.
