Saeima election passed without cyber incidents, but experts warn new threats lie ahead
Latvia's Saeima election proceeded smoothly with no significant technical disruptions or signs of outside interference, though experts say this was no accident but the result of lessons learned from the past.

Ahead of the Saeima election, there had been concerns about possible technical disruptions and attempts by foreign actors to influence the voting process. Those concerns ultimately did not materialize — the vote went smoothly, with no major incidents reported.
A calm vote is only part of the story
Guests on the LSM.lv program "Обсудим вечером," discussing the election's course, stressed that a report of a peaceful and untroubled vote is only one side of the coin. In the specialists' assessment, the absence of any serious or catastrophic incidents should not be seen as mere luck.
The result of past experience
Experts pointed out that this outcome is linked to lessons learned from previous situations — authorities and responsible institutions, having studied past cases, prepared accordingly this time to prevent potential risks.
However, the program's guests noted that the story does not end there. According to them, new threats are expected ahead, meaning the experience gained and the vigilance applied must continue to be reinforced going forward, rather than treating the risk as fully eliminated.
