Cyberattackers 'probed' infrastructure during Saeima election, without success
Latvia's Cert.lv says cybersecurity during the Saeima election remained stable — attacker activity was observed but had no effect on the election system, which officials attribute to long-term preparation.

The deputy head of Cert.lv, Latvia's cyber incident response institution, Varis Teivāns, confirmed to Latvian Radio that the cybersecurity situation during the Saeima election remained stable, even though the overall level of cyber threat in the country continues to be assessed as high.
Activity detected, no consequences
According to Teivāns, some attacker activity targeting state infrastructure was observed during the election period. However, these attempts were unsuccessful — they produced no real consequences and did not affect the functioning of the election systems in any way.
Long-term preparation credited for the outcome
Teivāns attributed this result to the fact that Cert.lv and other responsible institutions had been preparing for the election's cybersecurity needs over a long period in advance. He suggested that this groundwork was the key reason attackers' attempts remained ineffective and no impact on the voting process occurred.
Teivāns did not specify the exact nature or scale of the attempted attacks, but noted that the overall cybersecurity situation in the country still requires constant vigilance, since the threat level remains high beyond the context of the election as well.
