Signature drive launched to cut number of Saeima lawmakers

A new petition campaign has started on the Manabalss.lv civic initiative platform, aiming to reduce the number of deputies in Latvia's parliament, the Saeima, from the current 100 to 70.
Manabalss.lv is a platform where residents can register initiatives of public interest and collect signatures in support of them. If an initiative gathers a sufficient number of signatures, it is forwarded for further consideration by lawmakers.
