With the start of September comes not only the return to school but also the beginning of a new film festival season. On Latvian Radio 1's programme "Kur kritiķiem nav vietas" ("Where Critics Have No Place"), film critics Dārta Ceriņa and Žulijens Nuhums Kulibali discussed two major events in the international film world.

Baltic Sea Docs forum

The programme included an overview of the 30th Baltic Sea Documentary Forum "Baltic Sea Docs," marking the thirtieth edition of this regional event. The critics gave particular attention to two documentary films, "Tehplomātija" and "Tērauda brāļi," discussing the forum's programme.

Venice Film Festival

The second part of the programme focused on the Venice Film Festival, where the critics reviewed the main competition lineup — one of the most prestigious international film events, where major film industry awards are presented each year.

The programme offers listeners insight into both events' line-ups, helping them navigate the upcoming film festival season.
