The first construction works have started on the “Holme” residential quarter in Salaspils, Latvia, which is planned to include 896 homes. In the first building, on Mēness iela, 20% of apartments are already reserved.

The first actual construction works have begun on the new “Holme” residential quarter in Salaspils, a town near Riga, where 896 homes are planned. The project is being developed by the company “Estera Development” and is one of the largest housing projects in the Salaspils municipality.
Who took part
The event marking the start of construction was attended by the developer “Estera Development”, Raivis Anspaks, chairman of the Salaspils municipality council, the project's architects from “Tectum”, the builders “Bukoteks”, sales partners “Tribus Realty”, and representatives of the engineering firm SIA “Būves un būvsistēmas”.
The developer's explanation
Ulo Adamsons, founder and managing partner of “Estera Development”, said the moment was special not only because building work had started, but also because a great deal of effort had gone into finding the best location for “Holme”. According to him, Salaspils is developing successfully, and he compared it with the fast-growing suburbs of Helsinki, which have good public transport links to the capital and well-developed urban infrastructure. He said such conditions and attitudes are very important for housing developers who want to carry out a project of this size.
First building and reservations
Apartment reservations are currently open in the project's first building, on Mēness iela. It will contain 56 apartments with two to four rooms. In this first building, 20% of the apartments have already been reserved.
