Salaspils' New Concert Hall, Effectively Built Anew, to Open in September

A new concert hall has been completed in the centre of Salaspils, costing the municipality more than €18 million. The project is one of the largest local government investments in recent years. The structure has effectively been built from scratch. Construction work has now concluded, with only final interior fittings still underway.

The new building is already drawing attention in the town. It is clearly visible from the centre, and the playground next to it has become a gathering spot for families. Many residents know the opening is scheduled for September and are eagerly awaiting it. One resident, Guntra, said tickets for the inaugural events have already been purchased. Another resident, Valentīna, noted that the venue will open on 19 September and that she plans to buy tickets, although she described the prices as slightly expensive.

The opening concert is set for 18 September, followed by a public opening the next day. The main hall has 500 seats and has been designed in the "black box" style, allowing the space to be easily adapted for different types of events, from concerts and theatre performances to other public gatherings.

The completion of the project gives Salaspils a modern cultural venue intended to serve both local residents and visitors. Interest has been high, and the first tickets have already found their owners.
