The Janis Rozentāls Saldus History and Art Museum, in the Latvian town of Saldus, is marking the October birthday of not only the painter Janis Rozentāls but also his partner Ellija. To mark the occasion, the museum has opened an exhibition titled "Latvian Art Ceramics".

The exhibition presents part of a private collection. It is on public display for the first time, which gives visitors a chance to see items that had not previously been available to a wider audience.

According to the museum, the exhibition also outlines Ellija's work in an art salon. The display therefore looks not only at ceramic works but also at her professional activity.

The headline of the LSM report mentions a gift to Kārlis Ulmanis and an engagement vase as part of the exhibition's story. The source text gives no further details about these objects.
