Saldus district home to one of Latvia's most modern dairy farms
Company «Pampāļi» operates one of the largest and most technologically advanced dairy farms in Latvia, where robots milk more than two thousand cows. Company representatives spoke about the operation on Latvian Radio's programme «Kā labāk dzīvot».
AS «Pampāļi» is one of Latvia's leading closed-cycle agricultural enterprises, with dairy production as its main business area. The company's cattle farm is located in the Saldus municipality and is considered one of the largest and most technologically advanced dairy farms in the country.
The farm is home to more than two thousand cows, and milking is fully automated, carried out by robots. Each cow is fitted with sensors, allowing the company to continuously monitor the animals' health, behaviour and productivity, using the collected data to manage livestock operations.
Representatives of «Pampāļi» discussed the company's operations and the modern technologies used in its dairy production on Latvian Radio's programme «Kā labāk dzīvot» ("How to Live Better"). They described how a data- and innovation-driven approach is applied in contemporary livestock farming.
The company's example illustrates how digital technologies and automation are being integrated into Latvia's agricultural sector to increase efficiency and improve animal welfare in large-scale dairy production.
