Samsung adds a budget-friendly $799 model to Galaxy Book 6 lineup
Samsung has launched a new entry-level Galaxy Book 6 laptop starting at $799, the cheapest option in the series so far. Earlier models in the lineup ranged from $1,050 to $2,100.
Samsung has expanded its Galaxy Book 6 laptop lineup with a new, more affordable model starting at $799, making it the least expensive entry in the series to date. The device appears aimed at competing with lower-cost Windows machines and budget Mac alternatives.
The Galaxy Book 6 series was first shown off at CES earlier this year, with the original three models going on sale in the US in March starting at $1,050. In June, Samsung added a more powerful variant equipped with a Snapdragon X2 Elite chip priced at $2,100.
Specs and configuration options
The new budget model runs on either an Intel Core 3 or Core 5 processor, depending on configuration and market. Final pricing also varies based on storage — 256GB, 512GB or 1TB — and memory, available in either 8GB or 16GB.
The laptop features a 14-inch display with 1,920 x 1,200 resolution and an anti-glare coating, along with up to 25 hours of battery life per charge. It supports 45W fast charging. Ports include two USB Type-C, one USB Type-A, an HDMI 1.4 output and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
AI tools and Galaxy ecosystem features
As is common with newer devices, the laptop includes AI-powered tools such as AI Select, which lets users select on-screen content, and Note Assist, which summarizes notes and highlights key information for later review.
Being part of the Galaxy family, the laptop allows for easy file sharing and access across other Galaxy devices, and it can use a Galaxy Tab as a secondary display. The new Galaxy Book 6 will initially be available in Gray and Violet Silver — the latter being a new color option for the lineup — in select markets.
