Irish writer and artist Sara Baume visited Latvia this March to attend the Riga Book Festival held at the National Library of Latvia. During her visit, she gave an interview to LSM, where she talked about her novel 'flow over fall wilt,' which has been available to Latvian readers since mid-2025, published by Jānis Roze.

In conversation with journalist Aija Bremšmite, Baume revealed details about the novel's creation, emphasizing that the writing process was challenging yet fascinating. The author also addressed themes that permeate her work – loneliness and the ability to empathize with others. She noted that loneliness often arises when a person is unhappy, and this feeling is closely linked to empathy. Baume stressed that writing is her way of exploring these complex emotions.

The novel 'flow over fall wilt' has gained attention both in Ireland and internationally, and its Latvian translation is part of her literary legacy now reaching readers in Latvia.
