Lampa conversation festival urges to discuss uncomfortable topics
From July 10 to 11, the 12th Lampa conversation festival will take place in Cēsis, focusing on the question: what must you not avoid talking about? Organizers invite stepping out of comfort zones and exchanging views on socially sensitive issues.

The 12th edition of the conversation festival Lampa will be held in Cēsis on July 10–11. This year, its central theme is the question: what must you not avoid talking about?
According to festival co-founder Egita Prāma, expressing opinions on unpopular topics has become increasingly difficult in recent years. People fear attacks and personal insults on social media, leading many important issues to be left undiscussed. Even among the festival organizers, there has occasionally been a feeling that discussions may not address the most essential matters but rather stay within safe boundaries. To encourage openness and a willingness to listen to uncomfortable viewpoints, the festival's guiding question is about what cannot be avoided in conversations.
