Latvia's Central Election Commission (CVK) has released preliminary results for the 15th Saeima election after processing data from polling stations where 51% of all cast votes have been counted. The figures show that the "Apvienotais saraksts" (United List) party currently holds a clear and commanding lead.

The party is represented by Andris Kulbergs, Latvia's current Prime Minister, who has so far led the government. If the present trend holds once the remaining ballots are counted, "Apvienotais saraksts" could consolidate its position in the new Saeima.

Counting continues

The CVK stresses that the figures available so far remain preliminary, since only slightly more than half of all cast votes have been processed. Vote counting is ongoing, and the final, official results will be announced once data from all polling stations, both within Latvia and abroad, have been compiled.

Although the outcome could still shift, the margin visible at this stage of counting is already described as a decisive lead for "Apvienotais saraksts." Confirmation of the final results and the distribution of seats among parties will follow once the CVK completes the official tallying and verification of all votes.
