At least two people have died and at least four others were injured in a shooting that occurred on Saturday at a salsa festival in Toronto, Canada.

According to Canadian law enforcement, six people with gunshot wounds were found at the scene. Two of them succumbed to their injuries, while the condition of the other victims has not been disclosed.

The incident took place during the Salsa on St. Clair festival on St. Clair Avenue. The attacker fled after the shooting and remains at large. Multiple police units are still working in the area, and an investigation is underway.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford called the event a "senseless act of violence."

This is not the first such incident in Canada in recent months. In late June, an armed man in Montreal killed two people, including a police officer, before being shot by officers. In February, a school shooting in Tumbler Ridge left eight people dead.
