Ground Drones Transform Battlefields: From 30 kg to Several Tons
Military ground drones are becoming heavier and more capable, but Latvia prioritizes air defense, experts noted on a radio show.

Military ground drones are playing an increasingly important role in modern warfare, with the primary goal of saving soldiers' lives. Their applications vary widely, from lightweight models weighing as little as 30 kilograms to multi-ton vehicles.
These machines can perform tasks ranging from reconnaissance to direct combat operations. However, in Latvia, as Kristaps Puķe, head of "Natrix," and Armands Sakne, development lead at "LV-TEH," explained on the radio program "Digital Breakfasts," the priority is air defense rather than acquiring ground drones.
