A new court hearing has taken place in the asset division case between singer Anna Sedokova and the late basketball player Jānis Timma. Margarita Gavrilova, lawyer for Timma's family, announced on social media that Sedokova's side has requested that the case be heard in closed sessions moving forward, without providing the court with a reason for this request. Gavrilova expressed that such requests are usually made to shield certain information from the public, and that Timma's family has nothing to hide.

The court has already granted Timma's family's request to send inquiries to state registration authorities regarding Sedokova's movable and immovable property from the time of marriage until December 16, 2024, the day before Timma's death. The next session is scheduled for August 18.

Previously, Sedokova's representative Tatjana Stukalova stated that the apartment given by Timma to Sedokova had been sold, and the proceeds were spent within three months on family needs. The judge attempted to clarify the sale amount and the purpose of the expenses, but the defense could not provide clear answers. According to Gavrilova, the disputed apartment's market value at the time of purchase was 150 million rubles (approximately 1.5 million euros). Timma's family plans to claim all movable and immovable property, to be determined by the court.

The court intends to determine the amount of funds in Sedokova's bank accounts, deposits, equity stakes, and other assets, as well as to examine properties registered in Sedokova's name during the marriage that were later alienated without transferring a share to Timma. Timma's share in that specific property is currently under dispute.

Sedokova and Timma met in the summer of 2019, married in September 2020, and in September 2024 Sedokova announced the end of their relationship. Timma died in Moscow on December 17, 2024, by suicide. He had played 68 games for the Latvian national team and continued his career in Russia.
