Semenistaja to make Wimbledon main draw debut as lucky loser

Latvia's second-ranked tennis player Darja Semenistaja (WTA 104.) will make her main draw debut at Wimbledon on Monday, June 29, after earning a spot as a lucky loser following her loss in the third qualifying round. She will face Croatian Antonia Ruzic (WTA 61.) on court 17 at 15:00 local time.
Meanwhile, Latvia's top player Alona Ostapenko (WTA 35.) will face British wild card Harriet Dart (WTA 151.) on Monday. The match, originally scheduled for court 17, has been moved to court 1 with a start time no earlier than 15:00. The two have met once before, with Ostapenko winning 6-3, 6-4 in the second round of the Eastbourne WTA 250 event three years ago.
Ostapenko is playing in her 11th Wimbledon. Her best result is the semifinals in 2018, along with two quarterfinal appearances (2017 and 2024). She lost in the first round last year. Dart has participated in the main draw seven times, reaching the third round twice (2019 and 2024). She also exited in the first round last year.
