Semeņistaja opens US Open qualifying with a win

Latvian tennis player Darja Semeņistaja won her opening match in New York at the US Open, the season's final Grand Slam tournament.

Latvia's second-ranked women's tennis player, Darja Semeņistaja, defeated Japan's Haju Kinosita on Tuesday in New York with a score of 6-2, 7-5.

The match took place in the first round of the US Open. This tournament is the last of the four prestigious Grand Slam events of the current tennis season.

With this victory, Semeņistaja has made a successful start in the tournament and continues her campaign to advance further in the competition.
