At the "Lāčplēša kross" obstacle run in Mežaparks, Dmitrijs Serjogins outpaced biathlete Andrejs Rastorgujevs in the main distance, while Ilze Jumiķe won the women's race.

Last Saturday, October 3, Mežaparks hosted the twelfth edition of "Lāčplēša kross", a trail and obstacle run organized by the Adventure Competition Association, drawing around a thousand participants across all distances.
Main Knights' distance
In the main 10 km Knights' distance, three favorites battled for victory — multiple Latvian champion and record holder Dmitrijs Serjogins, biathlon world vice-champion Andrejs Rastorgujevs, and orienteer Uldis Upītis. Midway through the second lap, Rastorgujevs briefly took the lead, but Serjogins defended his title at the finish, marking his 28th national athletics championship win. Rastorgujevs, competing in the event for the first time, finished second, with Upītis taking third.
In the women's race, orienteer Ilze Jumiķe won on her debut, followed by Baiba Medne in second and Una Pērkone in third.
Other distances
In the 5 km Lāčplēsis distance, Armands Tālums took first place, Ēriks Anspaks finished second, and Toms Viekals-Gasjūns third. Among women, Dienā Stolniece won, followed by Zanda Malančuka and Signe Birkenberga.
In the shortest, 1.6 km Mile distance, Jānis Mūrnieks and Gundega Vancāne took top honors.
