Latvian rally crew with driver Mārtiņš Sesks and co-driver Renārs Francis crashed during the 14th special stage of the World Rally Championship's Finnish round on Saturday. Initially it seemed the pair could no longer fight for top positions, but the mechanics managed to repair the car and make it ready for Sunday.

Sesks reported on X that despite the accident, Saturday ended on a positive note. He thanked the mechanics for fixing the rally car and preparing it for the remaining stages. The driver said he is looking forward to Sunday, when two 30.02-kilometre special stages from Himosa to Jemsei are scheduled.

Before the crash, after 13 stages, the Latvian crew in the M-Sport Ford was fifth, behind four Toyota Gazoo entries. The current leader of the rally is Pajari, who leads Swedish Toyota Gazoo driver Oliver Sölberg by 46.4 seconds, while Evans is 1 minute 36.3 seconds behind.

Sunday features the last two special stages, with the first starting at 10.35. The event will be broadcast live on Go3 Sport 1.
