The first day of the World Rally Championship (WRC) round in Estonia began disastrously for the Latvian duo Mārtiņš Sesks and Renārs Francis of M-Sport Ford. However, they managed to fight back, posting several strong stage times and climbing to 6th overall by the end of the day.

Finnish driver Sami Pajari of Toyota Gazoo Racing had a flawless day and took the lead. Sesks and Francis showed resilience, overcoming early setbacks to keep themselves in contention for the remaining stages.
