Nine drunk drivers caught on Saturday; two face car confiscation
On Saturday, nine drivers with blood alcohol levels exceeding 1.5 per mille were detained in Latvia. Two will have their vehicles confiscated, while seven will be required to pay the value of their cars.

Last Saturday, traffic police detained nine drivers whose blood alcohol concentration exceeded 1.5 per mille. Criminal proceedings have been initiated in all cases.
Two drunk drivers were caught in Zemgale, two in Vidzeme, two in Latgale, and two in Kurzeme, while one was detained in Riga. Two vehicles will be confiscated, and the remaining seven drivers will be forced to pay the value of the vehicles they used.
In total, 548 administrative decisions were made in the field of road traffic. Of these, 294 were for speeding and one for aggressive driving.
