Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms Expected in Latvia on Saturday
Latvia will experience rain, locally heavy downpours and thunderstorms on Saturday, especially in the western and central regions, with gusty winds along the coast.
On Friday night, skies will become cloudy, and rain is expected in many parts of the country. Local thunderstorms with heavy downpours are also possible. Winds will be light over most of the territory, but along the coast, a gusty westerly wind will pick up, reaching 15–19 m/s in gusts. Overnight temperatures will drop to +12...+17°C, while in Riga the thermometer will fall to +15...+16°C.
On Saturday, the highest probability of heavy rain is in the western and central regions. The coastal area will continue to experience gusty west to northwest winds, while inland, wind intensification will only occur under isolated thunderclouds. Daytime maximum temperatures will range from +17 to +22°C.
In Riga, Saturday will be cloudy with rain starting around midday, and there is a possibility of thunderstorms and heavy downpours. A light to moderate west to northwest wind will blow, and the air will warm up to +20...+21°C.
