Sybiha to present plan to boost support for Ukraine at EU foreign ministers' informal meeting
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha has arrived in Ireland for an informal EU foreign ministers' meeting, where he will present a program to strengthen military and energy support for Kyiv. He calls for tougher sanctions against Russia and enhanced air defence for Ukraine.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha has arrived in Ireland to take part in an informal meeting of European Union foreign ministers. According to his post on X, Sybiha intends to present partners with a concrete set of proposals to strengthen support for Ukraine.
Sybiha stressed that the current escalation requires discussions on decisive responses, support for Ukraine, and ways to deprive Russia of the means and resources to continue its war. He said the discussion should involve all available tools.
The minister has prepared a clear list of priorities. It includes strengthening Ukraine's air and missile defence, imposing tougher sanctions and pressure on Russia, providing additional defence and energy support ahead of winter, and making progress on opening EU accession negotiation clusters.
"The more capabilities Ukraine receives and the fewer resources Russia has left for its war, the closer we will be to a comprehensive and lasting peace," Sybiha emphasised.
The informal meeting in Ireland brings together EU foreign ministers to discuss current issues, including further support for Ukraine.
